Lift - Reshape - Preserve - Designed for Your Face

INTRODUCTION

“Monopolar RF (radiofrequency) is an aesthetic technology that has been developed for non-surgical facial lifting for nearly 20 years, dating back to the era of Thermage. I have followed the evolution of this technology closely throughout that time.

But after almost 20 years, what doctors around the world have learned is that although monopolar RF can make the face firmer, heat delivered into deeper layers may also affect the youthful fat or volume that gives the face its fullness and youthful appearance. As a result, some people find that their faces look tighter, yet also more hollow, tired, or less fresh.

This is the thinking behind Spider-Lift by XERF, a technology developed through collaborative research between the United States and South Korea, which I have incorporated into my treatment designs at Nida Esth’ International under my own concept: One Face • One Lift • One Design.

After treating patients with it, I consider Spider-Lift by XERF my favourite RF technology. My question is not simply, ‘How deeply can the latest RF technology lift?’ What matters to me is, ‘Can we control and tailor the energy and treatment depth appropriately to the facial structure of each individual patient?’

The aim is to avoid a result where the face is indeed tighter and lifted, but ends up looking older, hollow, or tired.”

WHAT DOES THE EXPERT SAY?

In my approach to facial ageing, the face does not age through “sagging” alone. Several dimensions change at the same time. I focus primarily on three:

1. Deflation — Loss of Volume
Certain areas, particularly the mid-face, including the under-eye area, the front of the cheeks, the nasolabial folds, and the corners of the mouth, lose fullness. This can make the face look flat, hollow, or tired.

2. Descent — Downward Movement of Facial Structures
The cheeks and soft tissues gradually descend, leading to jowls, a less defined jawline, and sagging.

3. Aged Skin — Changes in Skin Quality
Collagen and elastin decline, and the skin becomes thinner.
Firmness and elasticity therefore decrease with age.

3. Aged Skin — Changes in Skin Quality
Collagen and elastin decline, and the skin becomes thinner. Firmness and elasticity therefore decrease with age.

At the same time, some people also have excess volume, such as fat in the lower cheeks, jowls, or under the chin. “This means that a single face can have areas that have descended, areas that have lost fullness, and areas with excess volume—all at the same time.”

This is why I assess which areas need lifting, reduction of excess fat, preservation of youthful fat, or added volume, rather than making every area equally tight or small.

This is also the foundation of One Face • One Lift • One Design. To me, an entire face should not be treated with one uniform protocol. Each patient needs a personalised treatment plan that considers facial structure, volume, and skin quality to determine what each area needs.

One Face — Because every face has its own anatomy and pattern of ageing.
One Lift — Because the right lifting approach must address the actual concerns of that particular face.
One Design — Because, ultimately, treatment should be designed specifically for each individual patient.

Personalised treatment design and the One Face • One Lift • One Design concept are part of the approach Dr. Nida has consistently practised at Nida Esth’ International, earning recognition across aesthetic medicine platforms, including the Global Health Aesthetic Awards and HELLO! Magazine Thailand.

WHAT IS SPIDER-LIFT™ by XERF?

XERF is a new generation of monopolar RF that uses two frequencies, 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz. This gives me greater flexibility to select energy delivery according to the depth and concerns of each facial area.

It is also a technology jointly designed in the United States and South Korea, allowing treatment to be adapted to both Western and Asian facial structures.

In areas that need facial lifting or skin tightening, I can focus the energy to help stimulate collagen contraction and collagen remodelling, making the skin look firmer and tighter.

For areas with more tissue or fat, such as the lower face, jowls, or under the chin, selecting energy that works at a deeper level allows me to focus on refining facial contours, reducing the appearance of heaviness in the lower face, and helping the jawline look more defined.

An equally important part of the approach is choosing not to treat every area in the same way. Areas such as the mid-face may already have limited volume, so I can plan to avoid or reduce energy in areas where youthful volume needs to be preserved.

For patients, the goal is therefore more than simply a “tighter face.” It is a treatment designed to create a firmer appearance, a more defined jawline, and a more balanced facial shape by addressing each area according to the face’s actual structure.

Personalised Treatment Mapping for Your Beauty

Every face has a different structure and different concerns. XERF Spider-Lift™ therefore does not use the same protocol for everyone. Treatment mapping is designed around each patient’s anatomy to identify which areas should be lifted, tightened, reduced, or have their volume preserved.

Spider Pattern Energy Delivery

The Spider Pattern distributes energy more evenly across the treatment area and reduces excessive heat concentration in any one spot, allowing more precise energy placement tailored to each area.

Dual-Frequency Monopolar RF

The 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz frequencies allow treatment at different depths according to the goal—for example, focusing on lifting and tightening in certain areas, or working more deeply in the lower face, jowls, and under the chin to help refine facial contours. There is no need to use the same energy level across the entire face.

Comfort-Focused Treatment

Wave Fit™ Pulse Technology helps deliver energy more gently, improving comfort during treatment. In many cases, treatment can be performed without anaesthesia.

Personalised Facial Analysis

Before treatment, the face is assessed as a whole rather than focusing on a single area. This helps clearly identify what should be reduced, tightened, reshaped, or preserved, reducing the likelihood of a hollow or unbalanced appearance caused by excessive volume reduction.

The defining feature of Spider-Lift™ by XERF is therefore more than “lifting and tightening.”
It is the ability to tailor energy delivery to the facial structure, helping facial contours look more defined, balanced, and natural.

HOW IT WORKS & KEY TECHNOLOGIES

THE SCIENCE BEHIND SPIDER-LIFT™ by XERF

To me, every technology is simply a “tool.” What matters is how we use it.

Spider Pattern & Spider Tip
These help distribute energy more evenly in a matrix pattern and reduce excessive heat concentration in any one area.

Dual-Frequency Monopolar RF
Two frequencies, 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz, allow the doctor to select a treatment depth appropriate to the goal of each zone.

Wave Fit™ Pulse Technology
This helps control the timing of energy pulses to make treatment more comfortable for the patient.

Real-Time Temperature Monitoring
A temperature monitoring system tracks temperature during treatment, helping the doctor keep energy delivery at an appropriate level.
For me, these features are valuable because they allow more precise treatment customisation.
Not because every feature needs to be used on every patient.

THE 5-STEP XERF PROTOCOL

STEP 1: Personalised Facial Analysis
I begin by analysing the face to identify:

  • Where there is descent.
  • Where there is deflation.
  • Where there is excess volume.
  • Where there is volume that should be preserved.

STEP 2: Vector & Matrix Design
I then map each zone to determine the direction in which it should be lifted, tightened, or reshaped.
Even the left and right sides of the same person’s face may not be exactly alike.

STEP 3: Dual-Frequency Energy Application
I select the frequency and depth according to the concerns in each area.
Some zones may need tightening.
Some zones may need facial contouring.
In some zones, I may choose not to apply any energy at all.

STEP 4: Real-Time Monitoring
Temperature and skin response are continuously monitored during treatment. My aim is not to use the highest energy level, but the most appropriate one.

STEP 5: Recovery & Follow-Up
Patients can generally return to their daily activities relatively quickly after treatment. I then follow changes in firmness, facial shape, and skin quality over time, as the effects of collagen remodelling continue to develop after treatment.

TREATMENT ZONES

XERF can be used in several areas, but I select treatment zones primarily according to each patient’s anatomy.

Upper Face
For selected cases that require tightening around the forehead or brow area.

Mid-Face
Used cautiously, particularly in patients who already have deflation or hollow cheeks.

Lower Face & Jowls
This is one of the areas where I find XERF particularly useful, especially in people with thicker tissue in the lower cheeks and along the jawline.

Submental Area
Suitable for planning facial contouring in people with fat under the chin or a double chin, together with a less defined jawline.

Neck
May be used to address firmness in selected cases, with skin thickness and neck anatomy assessed together.

IDEAL CANDIDATES :

XERF Spider-Lift™ is suitable for people with a heavy-looking face, particularly in the lower face.
This does not necessarily mean that the person is overweight; rather, it refers to a face with more tissue or fat accumulated in certain areas.
I particularly consider XERF for people who:
Have lower-cheek fullness or jowls.

Have a less defined jawline.
Have fat under the chin or a double chin.
Have a full or heavy-looking lower face.
Want a more defined jawline.
Want a more V-shaped facial appearance.
Want facial contouring without surgery.

For this group, my goal is more than lifting or tightening. It is to help reshape and define facial contours in a way that suits each person’s facial structure.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is Spider-Lift by XERF painful? Is numbing cream needed?

Treatment can generally be performed without anaesthesia because the Wave Fit™ system helps deliver energy more gently. I adjust the energy level to suit each individual.

Some people may notice a feeling of increased firmness immediately afterwards, but results continue to develop through the process of collagen remodelling.

Its key feature is dual-frequency technology, which gives me greater flexibility to select treatment depth according to each patient’s facial structure, together with Wave Fit™ Pulse Technology, which helps make treatment painless.

It is suitable for people with sagging, a less defined jawline, lower-cheek fullness, jowls, or fat under the chin who want to improve their facial contours without surgery.

It can be used in areas with excess volume, but I select treatment locations carefully to preserve the youthful volume that should be retained.

Careful planning of treatment locations and energy levels is essential. I avoid areas where volume should not be reduced and focus on maintaining facial balance.

Generally, there is no downtime. Patients can return to their daily activities and apply makeup as usual immediately after treatment. There may be a feeling of warmth and slight skin redness afterwards.

This depends on age, facial structure, skin quality, and each person’s goals. I assess every patient individually. In most cases, a clear difference can be noticed after just one session.

Not in every case. For significant sagging, surgery may still be the more appropriate option. I select the approach according to each person’s concerns and degree of laxity.

Yes, in selected cases. It may be incorporated into a plan with other technologies to address facial structure, volume, and skin quality according to the needs of each face.
